- 01Scoop. A pea per palm-sized area.
- 02Warm. Between fingertips until it turns to oil.
- 03Press. After each wash. Press it in. Rubbing lifts flake.
Water-based products first, balm last.If she sits on top, you used too much.Thick and sticky is a petroleum habit.
- MCT oil
- The light carrier. Sinks in fast when warmed.
- Shea butter
- The body of the balm. Plant sterols, and a softer feel on stressed skin.
- Jojoba oil
- Wax esters, close in structure to your skin’s own oil. So she settles in comfortably.
- Beeswax
- Edible grade. The breathable layer that slows water loss, and the reason she isn’t vegan.
- Sunflower oil
- Rich in linoleic acid. Also the oil the calendula is infused in.
- Calendula
- A long-used comforting botanical, for calm-feeling skin.
- Olive squalane
- The stable form of the squalene your skin makes. Absorbs fast, leaves no shine.
- Marshmallow root
- A cushioned feel on friction-prone skin.
- Plantain leaf
- A traditional botanical, for comfort on skin under pressure.
- Vitamin E
- The antioxidant that keeps the oils fresh for the life of the tin.
- Monolaurin
- A food-grade lipid that keeps the tin in good order through every finger-dip. Not a synthetic preservative.
- Manuka oil
- Kept at a trace, so the scent stays near-neutral.
- Bakuchiol, 0.5%
- The headline active. Plant-derived. Not retinol, not vitamin A, and it doesn’t convert to retinoic acid. Studied alongside retinol, with less of the sting and flake.
- Bisabolol
- A well-studied calming ingredient, for skin that reacts to most things.
- Helichrysum CO₂
- Skin-conditioning, at a low, functional level.

The feel
Silk. Soft-Matte.Never Shiny or Slick.
Melts in on contact.Gone within a few minutes.
Absorbs into the outer skin layer, instead of sitting on top until it rubs off.
Softness that holds, even after you wash your hands.
Skin that feels like skin again.Comfortable. Flexible. Quiet.

The science
A fully anhydrous system. No water to evaporate. No filler to dilute it.
Just a lipid matrix built to integrate into your barrier. Not sit on top of it.
It gets in first. MCT and squalane move fast through the stratum corneum, cutting surface drag and pulling actives with them. Jojoba mirrors your skin’s own lipids, slotting into the gaps where cohesion has broken down. Shea restores flexibility, so micro-cracks stop reopening.
Then it holds. Beeswax forms a breathable occlusive. It slows transepidermal water loss, so hydration stays where it’s intended.
Then the quiet work starts. Bisabolol quiets reactive skin. Calendula and marshmallow root support barrier repair and settle the noise, without triggering more reactivity. Low-dose bakuchiol and helichrysum work at the structural level.
Six mechanisms, one layer.
Absorbs like skincare, protects like an ointment, and doesn’t make you choose.
The result: Cohesion. Elasticity. Softness that stays.
Why she’s superior
Most products are 75-90% water.
You’re paying for something that evaporates. Water goes in, water escapes, you reapply. The routine gets longer because nobody fixed the barrier that holds moisture in. Only the surface. If your skin can’t hold what you apply, it doesn’t matter what you apply.

Petroleum jelly is a basic bitch.
It seals the surface. Heavy, shiny, occlusive. But it replenishes nothing. No lipids, no integration, no support. It traps what’s already there, which is fine if what’s already there is fine. If your barrier’s depleted, you’re just sealing in the problem.
Your actives and your SPF are doing (most) the heavy lifting.
NOOKS is what makes them land. When the barrier’s compromised, actives penetrate too fast, hit too hard, and skin turns reactive, dry, unpredictable. The lipid layer regulates all of it. How much gets through, how much stays, how much stings. NOOKS supports the barrier underneath. Less reapplying. Less reactivity. More skin that actually holds.

FAQs
Fifteen ingredients, none of them water, petroleum or fragrance. MCT oil, shea butter, jojoba, sunflower oil infused with calendula, beeswax, olive squalane, marshmallow root, plantain leaf, vitamin E, monolaurin, a trace of manuka oil, bakuchiol at 0.5%, bisabolol and helichrysum.
Lipids to help your skin hold onto water, botanicals for comfort, and vitamin E to keep the oils fresh to the bottom of the tin. What each one does is in the ingredients list on this page.
Manufactured in China, by a lab we chose for the standard of its work. It took some finding. Formulation decisions, design, packing and everything else happen in Melbourne.
Petroleum jelly had a good run. Cheap, stable and very good at sealing. We left it out because sealing is the whole of its career, and we wanted the whole tin working. The oils and butters in here come from plants and the wax from a hive, so the space petroleum would have taken went to ingredients with jobs of their own. Calendula, bisabolol and bakuchiol, for a start.
Its job. Bakuchiol comes from the seeds of the babchi plant, and it’s here at 0.5%, the concentration the published studies used. Studied alongside retinol, with less of the sting and flake. It isn’t retinol or a vitamin A derivative, and it doesn’t convert to retinoic acid on your skin. Here, it supports your skin’s own renewal, so rough, uneven patches feel smoother over time. It’s the only percentage we publish.
Yes. Last step at night, over serum. Under the eyes, the thinnest layer you can manage. We haven’t run a non-comedogenic test, so we don’t make that claim. Give it a week of nights and judge for yourself.
No. She sinks in when warmed and settles soft-matte. If she’s sitting on top, you used too much. Halve it.
Petroleum jelly forms a film that slows water loss for as long as it sits on top of your skin. And it does sit on top. Phone, steering wheel, pillowcase. NOOKS slows water loss with shea, jojoba and squalane, close cousins of the fats in your skin’s own oil. Warm a pea between your fingertips and she absorbs, settles soft-matte and leaves nothing to wipe off. Your pillowcase will notice.
Yes. On the outside, which is where she started. The first brief was intimate skin, so the spec was no added fragrance, no drying alcohol and one essential oil at a trace. Everything else came after. Use a small amount on clean, intact external skin. External only, so keep her out of the vagina. Anything sore, broken or new and unexplained goes to your GP before it goes to a balm.
No. She’s for skin. Several ingredients are ones you’d recognise from a kitchen, and the beeswax is edible grade, so balm on your lips, a stray lick or a kiss is nothing to worry about. Eating it is a different matter. If someone has swallowed a good amount, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.
Yes, both. After shaving, rinse, pat dry and press in a thin layer for skin that feels tight and hot. Skip anywhere that’s nicked or broken. After sex, a small amount on clean external skin helps it feel more comfortable. She’s an after product. During is a job for a proper lubricant, and oil weakens latex, so keep her well away from condoms.
She was made for it. Built to an intimate-skin spec first, where zero tingle was the pass mark. No added fragrance, no drying alcohol and one essential oil at a trace. On lips, nothing tingles on purpose: no menthol, no camphor, no flavouring. If your skin reacts to most things, patch a small area for a day first.
Barely. A faint shea note up close, then nothing. No added fragrance.
Most things that rub, crack or dry out. Hands after every wash. Cuticles, elbows, knees and heels. The chafe line, the bra strap, the waistband. Grip calluses after the gym. Closed, healed tattoos. Nipples after a feed, wiped clean before the next. Your leather boots, because leather loves it. If it’s skin under pressure, she goes there.
